Mendoza, Argentina - rich in both wine and design

They love it here. And their city is so cool as well.... beautiful parks... well designed streets and colonial architecture set around old plazas.

They know how to add smart details to modern houses too. Like the floating concrete stairs on this entrance and the recycled railway sleepers set upright and used to make this driveway.

I also liked a few of the logos for Le Petit Printers and the Kato Cafe. Smart.

Its been a long time since anything caught my eye.... Salta, Argentina

Equador, Bolivia and Peruvian people don't go in for design, unless you count adobe bricks and corrugated iron as features, but at last in Salta, these two are straight out of Monocle magazine....

Angular, Austrian looking and built to say 'don't even attempt to break into me'

They were perched up on the mountain side with towering views of Salta city below and the teleferico taking weekend city dwellers up to the lofty peaks above.
