How to build a deck on a roof

This is a great example of how to turn a pitch roof into a sundeck. This one on a guest house in West End, Roatan, Honduras has no safety guard and falls a sheer 40ft onto the beach.

That aside, its a very neat example of how a deck can easily be fitted to a roof to make a fun sunning area.

Tulum

Around 700AD the Mayans built Tulum.

It was the last of the great sites built to and used as a key trading position to ship produce up and down the Mexican coast.

Its in a stunning position, and if I were to build a warehouse and office.... I couldnt think of a better vantage point.

The sea is perfect and the sand like sugar.

Hip Hotels - Playa Del Carmen

This hotel in Playa Del Carmen uses simple lighting and a gigantic video wall playing Casablanca on loop throughout the night.

The pool has AWAY FROM YOU spelled out on tiles below, and out of the picture there is a decked bar with cabanas and neon strip lighting.

The hotel group also have a place called Basico two blocks away and one in Mexico City called, The Condessa. All are very habitable.

Sky Gardens

The owners of this apartment block in Mexico DF have taken vertical gardening to a new level. Really nice to see in a city full of cars, ozone and concrete....

Seat on the Street

This is cool. A tiled bench with a garden built into the back. Seen on the street in Condessa, DF. Mexico.

Recycled Vertical Garden

The Mexicans are a resourceful nation, here is another great example. This vertical garden not only made a great fence, but the plastic bottle containers filled with soil stack perfectly and the gaps allow small plants and mosses to grow. Ingenious.

Tree in a bench

This tree provided shade and greenery to an otherwise basic concrete bench. The street had these lining either pavement on a 100m stretch. Street Smart.
